Electro-hydraulic switch point machine TSH 100 C is a new modern system for controlling of tram switches. This system, in a small area, integrates all the important functions for safe and failure-free tram service.
The system TSH 100 C is equipped by the signalization of the setting rod and of both checking rods end position, as requested in the valid norms and recommendations. The system is designed for use with control and command system up to the safe level SIL 3 (AK 6) of the EN 6150, recommendation.
The end position of tongues is guaranteed by pressure springs with a defined and controlled thrust and ensured by a mechanical lock.
The unlocking and setting of the switch in the case of a forced passage in the opposite direction (trailing point switch) is non-destructive and can immediately continue in the service. In the case of emergency (manual) setting the system passes this information to the controlling system and this one inhibits automatically the possibility of electric setting.
These information then, in connection with an appropriate controlling system, provide a perfect possibility of both local and remote control of the system conditions and serviceability. The controlling center of the systems maintenance in the city can be informed about all the above mentioned facts and also e.g. about a number of settings, trailings, or about an emergency setting or any other pre-selected situation or about some defect.
The source of mechanical setting force is a compact electro-hydraulic aggregate. It’s hydraulic cylinder is fixed to the lock body, and thereby a linear transmission of setting forces is achieved. The setting force is identical on both sides.
The aggregate is in standard form provided by the oil pressure sensor in the system with it’s own display, so at a service examination it is possible to carry out a pressure control during the switch setting.
The thrust of tongues is guaranteed by two pairs of strong spiral springs, their force can be regulated by the adjusting screw.
The clearance between the edge of the lock and the crossbar can be adjusted by right-left screws, by adjusting screws then also the clearance on checking rod can be finely adjusted. The adjusting of tongue position sensors is also simple and comfortable, during the operation a spontaneous change of this adjusting can not occur.
The depth of the box doesn’t exceed 200 mm and thus increase the possibility of installation also in the narrow spaces. The box is perfectly water resistant IP 67, only one frictional sealing point is during the operation without stress. Passages of the rods are protected by a special rubber sleeves against the operation of normal spreading material, against oils, ground ozone and UV radiation.
The all system is separated into two water-proof sections. One of them include the electro-hydraulic power system, the second one the locking and control system with the rods.
Because the system must be reliable and functional, with minimal demands on the current maintenance, also in the heavy service and climatic conditions, for it’s construction such materials are used which guarantee a perfect protection against humidity penetration into the box and against the corrosion. The whole system is proposed in such a way that when a substitution of used parts is needed, it would be carried out quickly and without any problems.
The system can be equipped by the special request, according to the necessity, e.g. by reading of forces in both settings rods, by the controlling of pressure in hydraulic oil, with the regulation of minimum and maximum limit value, by checking of the level in the reservoir of hydraulic oil, by reading of the temperature and humidity of air in the box, or by checking of water penetrating in the box of the point machine.
